MayMay’s Ranch is a nonprofit sanctuary and fostering service being built on 9 acres of land just outside Winnemucca, Nevada. Our heart belongs to the dogs who are most often forgotten— deaf dogs, seniors, and the “unadoptable” pups who still have so much love to give.
We’re creating a place where these dogs can live in real home-style environments, not rows of kennels: soft beds, cozy cottages, wide-open yards, training tailored to their needs, and love without limits. As we grow, we’ll also provide meaningful jobs for Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing adults, pairing people and dogs who both know what it feels like to be overlooked.
MayMay’s Ranch is a Nevada nonprofit corporation, and we’ve applied for 501(c)(3) status. We’re choosing to build this sanctuary without loans, so that economic ups and downs never dictate how many dogs we can save. Every step forward is powered by generosity, compassion, and community.

After losing their beloved dog MayMay to cancer at just five years old, our founders turned heartbreak into purpose. Their vision is to create a sanctuary where no dog is turned away for age, ability, or medical need—and where every day feels like home.
Our veterinary partners help ensure that every dog receives proper medical care—from health checks and diagnostics to pain management and end-of-life comfort when needed.
Volunteers, foster families, and partners from local rescues form the backbone of our work. They provide transportation, training, socialization, and cozy couches while dogs wait for their forever homes or sanctuary placement.
Every dog who comes through MayMay’s Ranch—past, present, and future—is part of our family. Their stories, their resilience, and their joy guide every decision we make.
MayMay’s Ranch began as a promise made in honor of one special dog: to save the ones who might otherwise be left behind. Today, that promise lives on in a 9-acre property outside Winnemucca, Nevada, where we’re installing utilities, planning home-style dog cottages, and preparing wide-open play yards. As we secure the funding needed to build, we’re also partnering with rescues and supporters who share our belief that every dog deserves a soft place to land.
MayMay’s Ranch is currently in the building phase. As we complete key milestones, we’ll begin opening the property for scheduled visits, volunteer days, and community events.
